Hackney Diamonds: The Rolling Stones’ Exciting New Album with Lady Gaga and Sydney Sweeney Collaborations
Despite having a legacy that spans over six decades, The Rolling Stones have shown that age is just a number, with their latest offering, Hackney Diamonds. This album not only marks their first studio creation of original music since 2005’s A Bigger Bang but is also significant as the first posthumous release since the loss of legendary drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
Recently, the iconic trio – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood – graced the Hackney Empire Theater alongside Jimmy Fallon to spill the beans about their latest masterpiece. According to Wood, the Stones ventured into the studio just as 2022 was coming to an end. While they initially recorded an impressive 23 tracks, only 12 made the final cut for Hackney Diamonds, set to drop on October 20.
The lineup is particularly nostalgic, as two songs feature the powerful rhythms of Charlie Watts, recorded back in 2019. Additionally, listeners will be in for a treat as one track brings back the magic of former bassist Bill Wyman.
One of the most thrilling revelations was the music video premiere of “Angry,” starring the talented Sydney Sweeney from the hit series, Euphoria. Sweeney, who was present during this unveiling, labeled the “Angry” video the pinnacle of her career so far. The iconic Rolling Stones‘ vibe is very much alive in this song, and the video serves as a trip down memory lane, featuring Sweeney against a backdrop of the Stones’ memorable eras.
Hackney Diamonds hasn’t just been making waves in the music realm. Ahead of its release, the Stones’ emblematic lips logo lit up several renowned monuments globally, teasing their comeback. A cryptic ad in the Hackney Gazette directed curious fans to the band’s website, with some lucky ones getting a taste of “Angry.”
Despite Hackney Diamonds being their first original release in almost twenty years, the Stones’ momentum remains unstoppable. Just last year, they marked their 60th anniversary with the Sixty Tour. Prior to that, they wrapped up the No Filter Tour, a journey momentarily halted by the pandemic. With Jagger, the vibrant frontman, recently celebrating his 80th birthday, one thing is clear: The Rolling Stones are far from taking their final bow.
