Ice Spice’s Deli Dazzle: A Hip-Hop Phenomenon Unleashed!
In the wake of her debut EP’s deluxe edition “Like..?,” Ice Spice impresses with the release of the music video for “Deli,” one of the four fresh tracks featured in the revamped EP. Drawing parallels to her captivating performance at the BET Awards last month, the video showcases Ice rapping and twerking inside a deli, seemingly in her hometown of the Bronx.
A quintessential rap music video unfolds before the viewer’s eyes, replete with dance moves, flaunting wealth while holding stacks of money, and, most notably, documentary-style footage capturing fans showcasing their flamboyant selves during the video shoot.
The lyrics maintain their trademark audaciousness, incorporating lines like “I’m the shit/ I’m Miss Poopy” and “Hunnid bands in Chanely/ But I’m still shaking ass in a deli.” Ice debuted this song live for the first time during her performance at the Rolling Loud Miami festival last weekend.
It represents just one of the many remarkable strides made by 23-year-old Isis Naija Gaston, who undoubtedly stands as the breakthrough artist of the year. After her meteoric rise with viral hits such as “Munch” and “Bikini Bottom” last year, she has, within recent months, recorded and shared the stage with her idol Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
Additionally, she delivered a mesmerizing medley at the BET Awards, starred in a Skims ad campaign, and collaborated again with Minaj on the newly-released “Barbie” soundtrack. Adding to her already impressive accomplishments, she is slated to be the opening act for the first leg of Doja Cat’s North American tour, which commences in San Francisco on Halloween night.
