Biden announces student loan forgiveness plan; extends the final payment freeze-2022
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden made good on a promise he made during the campaign to provide many Americans a $10,000 debt cancellation, with an additional $10,000 available to those in the greatest need.
According to a tweet from the president, debtors who earn less than $125,000 annually or households earning less than $250,000 annually will be eligible for the $10,000 loan forgiveness. However, the specifics of the plan have been kept under wraps.
