Cricket Stars Kohli and Gambhir Fined for On-Field Argument
Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, and Naveen-ul-Haq broke the IPL Code of Conduct on Monday at the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore game at the Ekana Stadium. As a result, the BCCI penalised them severely.
Naveen-ul-Haq forfeited 50% of his match money for a Level 1 infringement, while Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100% of their match fees for Level 2 offences. All three of them acknowledged responsibility for their respective crimes and the punishments.
The Lucknow Super Giants coach Gambhir received a fine for breaking the IPL Code of Conduct, and Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Kohli received a fine for his conduct during the game.
Throughout LSG’s pursuit, Kohli was animated, which seemed to be a reaction to Gambhir’s exuberant celebrations after they defeated RCB in the first leg of the season. After the last-ball thriller in Bangalore, Gambhir had responded by making a’shushing’ gesture.
