Amazon to buy into Hawaiian Airlines
To expand its cargo-hauling activities utilising a fleet of Airbus freighters, Amazon.com is prepared to acquire a stake in Hawaiian Airlines’ parent company.
According to a statement released on Friday, Hawaiian Holdings Inc. issued warrants enabling Amazon to purchase up to 15% of the carrier’s outstanding shares.
The announcement of the proposal coincides with Amazon‘s freight airline growing at its slowest rate since the pandemic began, a hint that the e-commerce giant is adjusting to lax demand.
