iPhone 17 Series Launch in September 2025: Everything We Know So Far

The iPhone 17 series is set to make its grand debut in September 2025, and anticipation is already at an all-time high. According to a flurry of leaks, insider reports, and credible analyst statements, Apple plans to introduce four models: the standard iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a brand-new rumored variant — the iPhone 17 Air.

One of the most exciting upgrades expected across the lineup is the inclusion of 120Hz ProMotion displays on every model, including the base iPhone 17 and the rumored iPhone 17 Air. This marks a major departure from the current iPhone 16 series, where only the Pro models feature this advanced display technology. Additionally, Apple is reportedly adopting LTPO OLED panels across all models, which will enable support for Always-On Display (AOD) functionality.

iPhone 17 Design Updates: A New Look Across the Lineup

Design-wise, the iPhone 17 series could see a notable shift in materials. Unlike the titanium frames used in the iPhone 15 and 16 Pro models, Apple may return to aluminum bodies for the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models. The iPhone 17 Air, however, might use a titanium-aluminum hybrid frame, balancing durability with cost-efficiency.

Another anticipated change involves the rear camera module. Leaked prototypes suggest that Apple may move away from the iconic squircle-shaped bump found on recent iPhones and adopt a more traditional rectangular camera design with an aluminum casing.

iPhone 17 Camera Upgrades: Better Performance and Features

Apple is said to be significantly upgrading the front-facing cameras on all iPhone 17 models, increasing the resolution from 12MP to 24MP, promising sharper selfies and better video calling quality.

For rear cameras, the enhancements are even more impressive. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to feature a 48MP tetraprism telephoto lens, offering enhanced zoom capabilities. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to sport a single 48MP wide-angle lens, similar to the sensor found on the iPhone 16e. Despite having just one rear camera, Apple could leverage advanced computational photography to deliver performance rivaling dual-camera setups.

iPhone 17 Chipset: A19 and A19 Pro Chips Expected

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are expected to run on Apple’s next-generation A19 chip, while the Pro variants will reportedly be powered by the more powerful A19 Pro chipset.

In terms of memory, there are indications that Apple may increase RAM across the board. At least three models — possibly excluding the base iPhone 17 — may come with 12GB of RAM, up from the 8GB found in some current iPhone 16 models.

iPhone 17 Price Expectations: Slight Increase Expected

While Apple has historically kept price hikes minimal, the iPhone 17 series may see a modest increase in pricing due to new features and component costs.

In India, the starting price of the iPhone 17 could be around ₹89,900, while the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max may retail for as much as ₹1,64,900. In the United States, the entry-level iPhone 17 could start at approximately $899, with the Pro Max version reaching up to $2,300. In Dubai, consumers can expect prices to begin at around AED 3,799, going up to AED 5,399 for the premium model.
