Tragic Loss: Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, Grandson of Robert De Niro, Passes Away at 19
Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, Robert De Niro’s grandson, tragically passed away at the young age of 19.
On Monday, Drena De Niro, his mother, posted the news to Instagram.
I don’t know how to live without you, but I’ll do my best to carry on and share the love and light that you so generously made me experience in being your mother. “I wish that love alone could have saved you. You were so deeply loved and appreciated.”
Black squares without a caption were uploaded on Instagram by Leandro’s father, the artist Carlos Mare.
“I’m devastated by the loss of my cherished grandson Leo. Thank you very much for your condolences, everyone. In a statement, Robert De Niro pleaded for seclusion so that the family and friends of Leo could mourn in peace.
More information wasn’t available right away. Later on Monday, another statement from Drena De Niro was published by De Niro’s spokesperson.
She revealed in a statement that they are saying goodbye to their adored baby Leo with profound shock and sadness.
Finding the cause of death is the responsibility of the medical examiner’s office.
The oldest of Robert De Niro’s currently seven children is Drena De Niro, 51, who was born earlier this year. Robert De Niro is 79 years old. When the actor wed her mother, Diahnne Abbott, his first wife, he adopted her. Drena De Niro has a strong resume as an actor, including parts in “Joy,” “The Intern,” and “Mozart in the Jungle.”
Leandro De Niro Rodriguez also had acting credits, appearing in three films that also starred his mother: 2005 saw the release of several films, including “The Collection.”
